There are days that are remembered forever. Last Friday, in the Children's Garden Maria de los Angeles Martínez, several of the children who heard the concert of Fundación Música that Humaniza already had a sign that that was one of them: T-shirts signed by their peers, ready for the graduation hall that was waiting for them later. FMH didn't know when he got here. But without wanting to, he gave them the perfect soundtrack to start his most special day.
The Krosch Corps Quartet and Fernando Guajardo presented The Quartet and the Secret of Music for about 70 students and their teachers — among them their music teacher — in what turned out to be much more than an ordinary school concert. The repertoire included works by Mozart, Beethoven, Pachelbel, Vivaldi, Brahms and Strauss, but as always in this program, music was the starting point, not the destination.
Fernando led the students by the means behind the music: why Vivaldi wrote The SpringWhat I wanted to say, what a story I wanted to tell. The kids didn't just hear the piece. — They understood her differently. And when the time came to learn about the musical form of the canon, Fernando did not explain it with words but with voices. Martinillo divided the room into two: on the one hand, Fernando; on the other, the music teacher, who without hesitation joined in directing her students. Two voices chasing, seventy children singing, and a centuries-old musical form coming to life in a kindergarten room.
The closure came with the Tritsch- Tratsch- Polka de Strauss — and with him, a revelation that few expected. Fernando explained that music is not always written to be heard sitting: sometimes it is written to dance. And that the polkas that sound in Monterrey, so unique to the Regiomontana culture, have their roots precisely in pieces like this — born in Europe and traveled here in time. Before the explanation was over, the invitation was made. And the living room said, The children stood up, and the teachers danced with them. A moment that, in an already special morning, was even more so.
When the concert was over and FMH fired, the parents began to arrive. The hall was about to begin. FMH had not planned to be part of that day — But the music, as it usually happens, found its perfect moment without anyone asking.
